What's a pizza festival without Connecticut pizzerias? Dave Portnoy sure would make sure that didn't happen. As a leading preacher of Connecticut pizza, Barstool Sports' El Pres loves what we are doing down here in New Haven.

I'm sure you know by now that Dave Portnoy does his One Bite Pizza reviews where he goes around the country to all different pizzerias and ranks them off of one bite. He has consistently showed love to Connecticut and called New Haven the Pizza Capital of the World.

For the third year in a row, Dave Portnoy has announced a One Bite Pizza Festival that will be taking place this year. It's happening right in New York City at Randall's Island Park and featuring Dave's highest-rated pizzerias from around the country. What's cool about that? Connecticut gets a lot of love in that lineup. It looks like 9 Connecticut pizzerias will be featured at the festival. The ones to make the lineup are:

  • Frank Pepe's - New Haven
  • Sally's - New Haven
  • Modern Apizza - New Haven
  • Fuoco Apizza - Cheshire
  • Colony Grill - Fairfield
  • Christos Pizza and Restaurant - Wallingford
  • Zuppardi's Apizza - West Haven
  • Luna Woodfire Pizza - Naugatuck
  • Amato's Pizza and Pasta - Madison

That is quite the Connecticut lineup! I love that he really makes it prominent that Connecticut pizza is superior. The festival includes all you-can-eat pizza, 40+ pizzerias, interactive brand experiences and so much more. It's taking place on September 13.

There are many different tiers for ticketing for this festival. A normal GA ticket that includes all-you-can-eat starts at $179.99. The next tier is VIP which includes all-you-can-eat as well as open bar and a few other added bonuses. These tickets sit at $649.99. There is also a Chef's Tasting VIP table experience as a separate ticket as well. All information can be found here.

Tickets officially go on sale this Friday at 10 AM. I'm very happy to see a heavy Connecticut presence in this lineup.
