I think, if I had the ways and means, I would do what this guy is doing, wrap my vintage red pickup with holiday lights and music and drive around town spreading cheer like some sort of Christmas time Johnny Appleseed.

It was on Facebook, like all things it seems like, where I discovered this uniquely New Milford phenomenon. It's called 'Ole Red' owned by Paul Szymanski and he is out there again this year putting smiles on people's faces and changing days for the better all over New Milford. My thanks to Paul for the use of the pictures of his amazing pickup.

According to the Ole Red Facebook page, the truck is covered in 7500 Christmas lights and the sound system can be heard from about a half mile away. If you see them driving around through the shopping centers, be sure to say hello and they will hook you up with some candy canes. In addition to the candy cane giveaway, Ole Red will be giving you a chance to win gift certificates from local businesses and you can find out how you can win by checking out the Ole Red Facebook page.

This isn't Ole Red's first rodeo, so to speak. I also found another Facebook post from last year from Vincent Rodriquez, The Guitar Guy. Check out the post below and the amazing story that goes along with it.

So, Paul Szymanski has been out there doing this for a few years and our hats go off to him and say "hi" for us when you see him out there this holiday season.
