Connecticut Now Has a Non-Alcoholic Craft Beer Brewery
Question, would you actually drink beer if you couldn't catch a buzz?
Apparently, the answer is a resounding, "YES!" which is why the Athletic Brewing Company is off to a successful start. The Stratford-based brewery is offering craft brewed beer without the buzz which is perfect for the designated driver.
According to an article in the NewsTimes, the 8,000 square foot brewery features a 20-barrel brewhouse along with a 2,000 square foot tap room that includes an outdoor seating area. The guys you can thank at the Athletic Brewing Co. are the founders, Bill Shufelt and John Walker who told Hearst Media that 50 local businesses have already reached out to carry their non-alcoholic brands.
Their flagship brews are their Upside Dawn Golden Ale and Run Wild IPA both with an alcohol content of 0.5%. Plans for distribution throughout the state in local bars, package stores, and restaurants are in the planning stages.
You'll find the Athletic Brewing Company at 350 Long Beach Blvd. in Stratford and to taste the freshest of the fresh, their Tap Room hours are Fridays from 4 till 8pm, Saturdays from 12 till 6pm, and Sundays from 12 till 4pm.
