New York Named National Leader for Gold Diggers
According to a new study from a divorce-coaching company called Splitup — shared by the New York Post — New York has officially been named one of the top gold digger states in America.

That’s right, the Empire State didn’t just make the list — it cracked the Top 5. Everyone knows about the California Gold Rush of the 1800s, but this is a modern version where people aren’t mining or panning — they’re marrying old bags of bones and cashing them BIG checks.
Splitup’s researchers say they determined the rankings by mixing together a blend of financial and online behavior data — things like millionaire density, average hourly wages, cost of living, and even Google searches for terms such as “sugar daddy,” “sugar mommy,” “sugar baby,” and “marry rich.”

When the digital dust settled, here’s what they found:
Top 5 Gold Digger States in America:
1. Florida
2. Nevada
3. Texas
4. California
5. New York
If you’re in Connecticut wondering where we landed on the list — join the club. Once again, our state sits right in the middle at #24. This might call into question the general intelligence of the modern-day gold digger but who am I to judge?
Meanwhile, the least gold-digging state in the country? That honor goes to Vermont — the place where granola and breath work are the real currency.
Bottom 5 Gold Digger States:
Vermont
Nebraska
Montana
Wyoming
Maine
So yeah, New York’s digging for gold, Vermont’s falling in love, and Connecticut’s somewhere in between — probably checking Zillow and pretending it’s for “research.”
