New England Helped Dunkin’ Launch Its Massive New Coffee Buckets
According to People, Dunkin’ has decided that regular iced coffee cups are no longer enough for America, so they’re officially rolling out 48-ounce buckets of iced coffee nationwide after quietly testing them here in New England earlier this year.

And honestly, this might be the most American thing that has ever happened.
The test run happened at select Dunkin’ locations around New England, which makes perfect sense because if there’s one region qualified to stress-test absurd amounts of iced coffee, it’s us. People around here drink iced coffee during snowstorms while wearing shorts. We were born for this assignment.
For perspective, a Starbucks Venti iced coffee is 24 ounces. Dunkin’s new “bucket” doubles that. Forty-eight ounces. That’s basically enough caffeine to let you reorganize your garage at 3 a.m. and start a podcast nobody asked for.

The buckets officially go nationwide starting Friday, and each one costs about $13. Customers can fill them with iced coffee or Refreshers, and apparently they’re customizable with flavors, sweetness levels, and caffeine options.
Now personally, nobody loves a Dunkin’ iced coffee more than me. But I also fully admit mine usually has so much caramel and whipped cream involved that we’re not even pretending it’s coffee anymore. We’re talking about a dessert wearing a coffee disguise. So honestly, why stop at one giant dessert beverage when America has clearly decided we deserve four at once in bucket form?
The funniest part is Dunkin’ reportedly says these things are not meant for sharing. There’s only one straw hole, they won’t fit in your cupholder, and there are no refills.
So basically, this is less of a beverage and more of a personal lifestyle decision.
Apparently smaller coffee shops started the bucket trend last summer and it exploded online. But now Dunkin’ has entered the chat and, in true American fashion, decided the answer was “make it bigger.”
