Caraluzzi's Bethel Market can expect a new competitor in town in the coming weeks. According to glenroeestates.com, La Placita Bethel Market is stocking their shelves and placing the finishing touches on its new store at 289 Greenwood Ave in Bethel.

A grand opening date has yet to be announced for the new Bethel location. Ironically, La Placita is located at the former site of Caraluzzi's Wine & Spirits, which has moved next door to their grocery store at 98 Greenwood Ave.

According to the 2020 Census, Danbury's Hispanic and Latino population has grown remarkably and hail from Puerto Rico, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Colombia, and Guatemala.

The latter stated on his Linkedin page that he's in the process of expanding the family business into a national brand.
