Connecticut’s Bradley Airport Announces New Airlines and Routes
I know most of you in Western Connecticut are used to making the short trip down into NYC to fly out of LaGuardia, JFK, or Newark. I am too, but I love flying locally out of Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut if possible.
The traffic through Hartford, even on a Friday, is preferable to anything New York City Metro at any time. Bradley is so well laid out and there is so much open space around that area of the state that staying and parking is a breeze.
With air traffic seriously ramping up in the US again post-pandemic, I'm sure you're itching to get the hell out of Connecticut as bad as the next person, right? Well, Bradley International Airport made a couple of announcements over the weekend that will make your escape a little more convenient.
According to the Connecticut Airport Authority, Bradley is one of the announced Launch locations for the new Breeze Airways, a new start-up from Jet Blue founder David Neeleman. Starting this Thursday, May 27, 2021, Breeze will fly non-stop between Bradley and Charleston, SC. I just looked online, and it's cheap, like $50-$100 each way cheap. Also, starting July 22, 2021, Breeze will add another 3 destinations from Bradley - Columbus, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, and Norfolk, VA.
Another new airline, Sun Country Airlines, has started flying into Bradley and they will offer new non-stop service between Bradley and Minneapolis, Minnesota twice a week starting now, and will offer flights between Bradley and Orlando, Florida (You say?) towards the end of the Summer, in September.
