Naugatuck Police Search For Alleged Liquor Store iPad Thief
The Naugatuck Police Department released a few photos to the public yesterday in an attempt to identify a man suspected of stealing an iPad from a local liquor store in January. The theft occurred over a month ago, on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, and it happened at D&D Liquors at 143 Bridge Street in Naugatuck.
The man suspected of the theft entered the store and allegedly stole a "Laptop-style iPad computer" from the store. The man appears to be on the muscular side, with a flat-top haircut with shaved sides. He left the store and hopped into what appears to be a newer, light-colored GM model SUV or pick-up truck.
I'm guessing that the item stolen, described as a "Laptop-style iPad" is one of the newer iPad models that were released recently. There's a new accessory called the Smart Keyboard that magnetically attaches to the side, making it transform from a basic tablet shape into a more traditional laptop look. In the photograph above, according to the Naugatuck PD, you can see the vehicle that the suspect, or at least it's grill and a couple of headlights, is thought to have driven away from the scene in.
D&D Liquors is located on Bridge Street, in the Big Y plaza, right next to KFC and across the street from O'Reilly's. If you can identify the suspect, you are being asked to contact the Naugatuck PD at 203-729-5221, or you can remain anonymous by contacting their Tip line at 203-720-1010.
