An injured mother and daughter are suing the Connecticut State Police, claiming a trooper was intoxicated when he crashed into their car.

According to the Hartford Courant, a Middlebury mother and daughter, Lisa and Madison Conroy, have filed a lawsuit against the Connecticut State Police, alleging that Sgt. John McDonald was intoxicated when he collided with their car after leaving a retirement party at the Black Hog Brewing Co. in Oxford on September 25 at about 7:35 pm in the area of Route 188 and Airport Road in Southbury.

According to an article at fox61.com, police reported that McDonald allegedly sailed through a stop sign and collided with the car carrying Lisa and Madison Conroy. In the body camera footage, you can hear Lt. Bartolotta saying, "I'm more pissed that he's put us in this situation. That's what I'm pissed about."

Aside from the Connecticut State Police, the lawsuit also names the owners of Black Hog Black Hog Brewing Co. The video was released due to the freedom of information requests from a number of news organizations. The State Police are also conducting their own internal and criminal investigations.
