Metallica will apparently announce a promised world tour on Monday. Live Nation has posted a short, seven-second video with that day featured in the same font style as the band's new album, Hardwired ... to Self-Destruct. You can watch the clip below.

Metallica have already played some early dates in Latin America, while promising “many more shows to come.” Thus far, however, no concrete information about an extended tour has emerged since the band's new album debuted at No. 1.

Along the way, both Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett made it clear that U.S. concerts were in the works. In August, Ulrich said Metallica were still "looking to figure out what we’re doing in North America, but there will definitely be some pretty extensive touring in America." Hammett lamented the band's time away, in a separate talk last last December.

"It's been a long time since we've done a proper American tour," Hammett said. "We've done European tours, Asian tours, South American tours — relatively recently — but we have not done a proper American tour as of late, so we're very, very excited about it, and we're very excited to be able to do it playing new songs."

In the meantime, fans can check out Sunday's Grammy Awards show, which will find Metallica collaborating on stage with Lady Gaga, three years after their surprise turn on the same show with a classical pianist.
