On October 12th, 2019, Hat City on Tap Beer Festival takes over The Danbury Arena located at 1 Independence Way, and I got the chance to speak to the band that is hitting the stage, providing the entertainment for the entire event.

Decade, a tribute band from Asbury Park, NJ, plays a variety of 70s music. While Decade specializes in Neil Young covers, they also play covers of other famous musicians such as; CSN, America, The Eagles, and Grand Funk. Decade plays many types of music, such acoustic, electric, and solo.

Decade consists of John Hathaway, Steve Cunniff, Gordan Strout, Joe Napalitano, Aaron Manzo, and Ken Biedzynski. Hathaway is the lead vocalist and guitarist, while Cunniff is a backup vocalist and keys player. Strout can be seen on guitar with Manzo right there on bass. Napalitano spices things up on pedal steel guitar. Last but not least, Biedzynski will be holding it down in the back on drums.

During my chat chat with lead vocalist and guitarist Hathaway about the upcoming event, he noted that Hat City On Tap will be Decade’s first time playing in Danbury.  “We are very excited to be a part of the event, [we are] looking forward to playing the Danbury Arena and for the city of Danbury.” Decade is also excited for the upcoming Hat Tricks season! “Decade would also like to wish the Danbury Hat Tricks hockey team, its management, and staff the best of luck in their inaugural season.”  Be sure to stop by Decade’s set while trying all the amazing craft beers.
