Martha Stewart’s Visit to Arethusa Farm Premieres Today
I told you just about one year ago that Martha Stewart was coming to Bantam and Litchfield, Connecticut to film an upcoming episode of her Roku show 'Martha Cooks' at the incredible Arethusa Farm. Gather up your hunk of Europa and a pint of Old-Fashioned Butter Pecan Arethusa fans, the episode premiere's today.
In February 2023, Arethusa Farm's Europa, a Gouda-style cheese, was named the best cheese overall, and crowned the 2023 United States Champion. Europa beat over 2,250 entries to take the title. I've tried it multiple times since, and it truly is incredible. What's even more incredible is the consistency of quality in every slice that I've purchased. It's a masterpiece, every time. The taste is incredible, but the texture and the way the cheese melts in your mouth is beyond description. The only thing I can think of saying is "Big fan, big fan."
The fifth season of Martha Cooks premieres today (July 8,2024) on the Roku Channel, and Season 5: Episode 4 is titled 'Arethusa Farm Dairy's Award Winning Cheese'. The description says "Martha road trips to Arethusa Farm in Bantam, Connecticut, and learns how they make their award-winning Europa cheese, visits their cheese caves, and makes their delicious cheesy risotto recipe."
The episode is streaming for free, with ads, at therokuchannel.com. I just watched the episode, and it starts with a great drone shot of the Arethusa properties at the intersection of 202 and Bantam Lake Road. It's very cool to see Arethusa's 'Cheese cave', which is surprisingly not an underground tunnel, but a blindingly white and wood storage facility.
