Hollywood director James Cameron is not a big fan of superhero movies. According to Express James Cameron told Indie Wire:

I’m hoping we’ll start getting ‘Avenger’ fatigue here pretty soon. ...It’s just, come on guys, there are other stories to tell besides hypergonadal males without families doing death-defying things for two hours and wrecking cities in the process. It’s like, oy!

Hypergonadism is a condition that produces abnormally high levels of testosterone, by the way. Consider this stolen. I will use that word wherever and whenever possible. Hell, I may throw it into conversations where it makes absolutely no sense.

So Jimmy does not dig the superhero movies? OK, that's cool. I am kind of split on this. I have a bit of superhero movie fatigue, myself. However, I am excited about Infinity War coming out. This is the latest Avengers film, and the one that sent Cameron on his tangent. It hits theaters this Friday, and almost every actor in Hollywood is in it.

So, we don't need to tell the story of every superhero that we have ever seen in a comic book, I agree, but we need Infinity War. There is going to be applause like every five minutes when another big star hits the screen. You'll also see odd pairings in scenes. It's going to be an onslaught of A-list celebs dressed like it's Halloween, all night long.

Are the superhero movies high art? No, but they are a fun distraction from a world filled with bad news for a few hours. Bring on the absurd levels of testosterone produced in the gonads, and let's roll.

P.S. Cameron does not need to dog other people's movies to prop himself up. You are better than that, James. We like your movies too. It's not the best look to call out superhero movies. One of your biggest successes as a director was a movie with ten-foot-tall blue people that fly on dragons. Avatar may not have been a comic, but it certainly could have been.
