October 12 is designated as National Stop Bullying Day. Sad that we live in a world where we need that designation.

Bullying. It's insidious. It can destroy a child, it can put fear in anyone, and it also seeps horribly into our adult lives. No one is impervious to the affects of being bullied.

Sadly it has crept into our world. And while we should all be mindful of it on a daily basis- today, National Stop Bullying Day, is the day to help bring awareness of the need to stand up and put an end to bullying.

Actually the month of October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness month. The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services has an incredible website StopBullying.gov that offers numerous tools, support and links for help and education on bullying.

Bullying often has it's grass roots in childhood, and then carries into adulthood. I found two fantastic sites that strive to help educate kids about the dangers of bullying.

They are:

Parents, educators, communities, and children themselves, all need to work together every day to bring an end to the action of threatening behavior. Bullying in any form creates an emotional impact that can destroy lives.

Stop Bullying Now.
