Inexpensive Non-Stop Flights To Florida? Look Up HVN Connecticut
Did Connecticut's first frost this week make you yearn for the warm Florida sunshine? A new airline servicing Connecticut just started up yesterday, and right now, they're offering dirt-cheap fares to get between the Sunshine State, and us Yankees.
I've written a couple of recent articles about new airline travel routes being established out of Connecticut's major airports. Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks has recently added a new non-stop flight from Sun Country Airlines between Bradley (BDL) and Orlando (MCO), and they've also added Breeze Airways, and their flights between Bradley and Columbus, Ohio, Norfolk, Virginia, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Charleston, South Carolina to their offerings.
But it seems as if the airport that you should look to first for your non-stop cheap flight to Florida is Tweed New Haven (HVN). Tweed is now offering multiple flights to 6 different popular Florida cities from Avelo Airlines. You can fly from HVN to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, Sarasota/Bradenton, Tampa, or West Palm Beach.
The best part? Fares start at just $49. I just tried to book a flight from Tweed to Orlando in the middle of December, and I was quoted a $49 fare each way. $50? You can't make it to the Palisades Mall in Jersey without dropping $50 in gas roundtrip. $100 roundtrip to 6 different Florida cities from New Haven? I'm packing right now.
Of course, there is fine print, you must book your flight by November 17, 2021, and you must travel on select dates between now and 4/30/22. Plus there are additional fees for carry-on and checked bags, assigned seats, and other optional services, but, still, wow.
Check out AveloAir.com to see if your flight to Florida can be cheap enough for you to be able to afford to bring the kids to both Disney and Universal.
