Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue confirmed that I-84 East & West are both shut down from Exits 11 through 14.

Photos and videos are being posted online of the accident, with one saying that both Connecticut State Police and the CT DOT are on scene and no serious injuries were reported.

Give yourself a little bit of extra time if you're planning on taking that route this morning. Newtown has very high traffic due to everyone seeking alternate routes.

This is a developing story and we will continue to update it as more information comes in.
