Mayor Says ‘Nothing Good Comes From an Hour’ as City Eyes Hotel Ban

Police Chief Fernando Spagnolo is on board, shrugging that while maybe there are legit reasons to rent a room for an hour—“he’s hard‑pressed to think of any.”  Basically: “Room for an hour? Yeah, that probably ain’t for Netflix.”

Should the ban take effect, offenders could face fines of up to $250, although the city’s default is a gentler $50, unless a more specific amount is included in the budget. If a citation lands, you’ll get your day in court with a mayor‑appointed hearing officer in 15 to 30 days: guilty or not, you’ll know soon enough.
