‘Mind Blowing’ Holiday Light Show Returns to Connecticut This Year

During the holiday season, lots of people drive around different Connecticut neighborhoods checking out all the light displays.

This year, you can get your light display fix all in one place with the all new "Holiday Lights" starting November 26 at Lake Compounce in Bristol.

Even if you've been there before, this year's show promises even more holiday magic than ever with all new experiences.

According to the Lake Compounce website, this Holiday Lights show, which is recommended for the entire family, is being advertised as having five new experiences,  will include new light displays and spectacular light shows set to your favorite holiday songs.

Because the annual light show at Lake Compounce was canceled last year due to the pandemic, organizers are saying that this year's show will be more than just a mind blowing light show. There's also a chance for you to get your whole family into the Christmas Spirit by decorating holiday cookies, building a gingerbread house, writing a letter to Santa, or maybe taking a ride on the North Pole Railway, which makes stops at Kiddie Land, where you can catch Mrs. Claus telling Christmas stories, and the Winter Wonderland Starlight Theater where your kids get a little one on one time with Santa, and get a photo taken with him as well. It's a true North Pole Extravaganza.

There's also an all new stage show this year at the Starlight Theater called "Once Upon a Christmas" with singing, dancing, and a little Christmas magic.

Here's a rundown of what you can expect during the month of December.

December 3-4: Bring a toy to donate to the Boys & Girls Club of Bristol and receive free parking.

December 5: Bring your family pet for what they are calling "Pawliday Lights". Pets will be able to take photos with Santa, you can also treat them to some puppichino. If you don't have a pet, this is the weekend to also check out the adoptable dogs from Dog Star Rescue.

December 10-12: It's the parks first ever "Holiday Market" where you can pick up all kinds of different products and holiday decorations from many local artisans.

December 17-19: It's a special "Gingerbread Weekend", and yes you guessed it, it's all about gingerbread themed food and beverages, and building your own gingerbread house. This theme will only be held this one weekend, so don't miss it.

December 26: If you didn't get a chance to bring your pet earlier in the month, they are doing it again. It's another "Pawliday Lights" weekend, round 2.

December 27-January 1: During the Christmas break, the park will be celebrating "Peppermint Week", and that means all things peppermint with different food and beverage items, and once again this theme is exclusive to this weekend only.

December 31: Ring in 2022 with a special family "New Year's Eve Celebration." Kids accompanied by their parents will usher out the old and ring in the new with a bubble party, and a juice box toast at 8 PM.

Tickets for the "Holiday Lights" at Lake Compounce are just $14.99 in advance, and can be purchased on the Lake Compounce website. There are also special prices for juniors (ages 4-10), and seniors, (60 plus), and children three and under get in for free.
