Police: Grow House Busted in Early Morning South End Waterbury Raid
A multi-departmental raid early this morning in Waterbury's South end has resulted in the arrest of two city residents on multiple felony charges after officers allegedly found a marijuana grow operation, firearms, and other dangerous narcotics inside the residence.
According to the Connecticut State Police, at 5 AM this morning, April 1, 2021, members of multiple law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at a residence on Keefe Street in Waterbury on suspected weapons violations.
Detectives found 4 adults and 2 juveniles inside the residence. As a result of the search, several firearms were seized and an illegal marijuana grow operation was also discovered. In addition, various narcotics, including cocaine and heroin were also discovered. The press release states that all of the firearms were found to be in the juvenile's bedroom.
Police placed Kevin Matos, (12-30-95), already a registered Deadly Weapons Offender, under arrest, and also took Harrison Regan (5-26-91) into custody. Both have been charged with multiple felonies. Matos is being held on a $500,000 bond and Regan is being held on a $200,000 bond. Both are scheduled to be arraigned in Waterbury Superior Court on Monday April, 5, 2021, at 10 AM.
The investigation is still active and ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming. The warrant was executed by members of the Waterbury PD, CT State Police, the Statewide Narcotics Taskforce, CSP K9 units, and Waterbury Narcotics Officers.
