You could say that hard work and dedication is what makes all the difference in most things that we set out to do in life. When you participate in sports, it can literally make or break you.

Former Danbury High School Cheerleading Captain, Kennedy Shook, is no stranger to breaks. According to therudenreport.com, Shook, who led her team to the state championships in 2014, hung up her pom-poms after suffering from multiple broken bones and concussions.

This past spring, the UConn senior decided to put her injuries and nerves behind her and try out for the Huskies Cheerleading Team. In two weeks, Shook will be cheering the Huskies from the field instead of from the stands as they open their season against Holy Cross.

How does it feel to go from Danbury High School to UConn?

It will be a big change for me and it is something I am really looking forward to. The stadium is huge and it’s going to be so different. It’s exciting.” - Kennedy Shook via therudenreport.com

Good luck, Kennedy, we're all rooting for you!
