One Florida Elementary school teacher has had it with the behavior of parents during virtual learning sessions. According to the Miami Herald, Boca Raton Elementary school teacher Edith Pride spoke her piece at the school board meeting Wednesday (9/16/20). Pride had this to say:

Parents, please make sure that you have on proper clothing when you are walking in front or behind the child's computer. Cause, we done seen them in their drawers, their bra and everything else. Remember all children are on the computers and can hear your conversation. So, please try and use proper language, no cussing, cause if I just say no profanity, they may not know what profanity is. So, no cussing, they know what that is and number four, when you are helping your children when they are at the computer, please do not appear with big joints in your hands and cigarettes. Parents, please understand that your child is in class and the parents should not stay in the picture and make silly faces behind the child.

That's what I call some Grade A sass right there. Good for Edith Pride for living up to her name. She's probably saved more than one soul over her years as an educator.

To my fellow North-easterners, the cold weather is on it's way and that means all the people you know from Florida will soon be sending you annoying updates on the warm weather in the Sunshine State.

When they do, remind them of this story, save the link and send it as soon as they screenshot their weather app. You might also remind them of the following:

  • You don't live a short drive from Carole Baskin
  • You are in no danger of having your leg torn off by a dinosaur in your backyard.
  • You can get an award winning bagel or slice of pizza just minutes from your house.

If that is not enough, purchase your "Florida You Say" t-shirt from the I-95 Merch store to remind them, we are all laughing at them.
