Traffic was heavily affected and reportedly backed up for miles. Also, downtown Hartford traffic was also impacted due to vehicles being diverted through that area.

According to wfsb.com, State Police said they responded to "a report of a fatal crash" just before 5:10 a.m. on Monday morning. The crash reportedly involved a school bus and two tractor trailers. Fortunately, there were no children on the school bus at the time of the crash.

It is unclear which vehicles were being driven by the two who were killed. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

According to officials at the East Hartford Fire Department the highway will be closed in the area of Connecticut Boulevard for an extended period of time.
