Federal Road in Brookfield Will Step Back into 2009 on Monday
If you are planning on driving along Route 7, Federal Road, or 202 this coming Monday, June 3, 2024, you might think that you've stepped into a time machine that brought you back to the year 2009.
The Brookfield Police Department have announced on their social media that a portion of Rt. 7 will be temporarily shut down on Monday in order to allow a film crew to shoot scenes for an upcoming movie currently being shot around the greater Danbury area. 'Summer House' is the working title of the movie, and if you passed by Harrybrooke Park in New Milford this week, you may have seen the magic being made.
The movie magic is going to cause a slight inconvenience for commuters this Monday, because between 9AM and 5PM. Brookfield Police have announced that all motor vehicle traffic will be diverted off of Rt. 7 North and Southbound onto Federal Road/202 between exit 12 and the traffic light by the Connecticut DOT garage and the Golden Leaf.
Basically, the last portion of Super 7 that opened to the public in 2009 will be temporarily shut down for the better part of the day. What does this mean? The volume of traffic through the Four Corners area of Brookfield that hasn't been seen since 2009. The radio station I work at is at 1004 Federal Road, and I started working here in 2006, before the highway was finished behind us. It used to take me 5 minutes sometimes to take a left our of our driveway onto Federal Road. Take in all the changes to this area while you're creeping along Monday, so many new buildings have gone up over the past 6 months.
