All week long from October 9 through October 15 is Newtown and Sandy Hook Restaurant Week where all of the participating restaurants offer enticing deals on their unique lunch and dinner menus. If you haven't been paying attention to the restaurant options over the last year or two, some new fabulous eateries have sprouted up that people have been talking about.
Twenty-six restaurants throughout Newtown and Sandy Hook have created special menus exclusively for Restaurant Week featuring everything from sushi to contemporary Italian, Mexican to American style cuisine. Dere Street
Dere Street, located at 33 Main Street in Newtown was featured as one of the best 'New Restaurants' in Connecticut Magazine's 2017 Best Restaurants Issue. Click HERE for their special RW menu.

Toro is located at 28 Church Hill Road in Newtown and is my personal favorite for the freshest and tastiest sushi. CT Magazine also named them as one of the best Japanese and sushi restaurants in Connecticut. You'll find their RW menu right HERE.

Sal e Pepe
The winner of many awards from Connecticut Magazine, Sal e Pepe is located at 97 South Main Street in Newtown and is known for their homemade Italian dishes like Mrs. Marini's Lasagna Bolognese. Check out their RW menu.

Mexicali Rose

Foundry Kitchen and Tavern
Sitting right on the corner of Glen Road and Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook is the Foundry which gets an impressive 4 out of 5 stars on Yelp.com. One reviewer was so impressed by his Reuben sandwich he just had to take a photo! Outdoor seating overlooking the river was a big plus along with the Yucca fries and Fish Tacos.
