News broke over a year ago in October 2022 that the fast-expanding Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based chicken finger specialist Raising Cane's had plans to expand North into Connecticut and New England. The Massachusetts locations recently opened up, and now the first Connecticut Raising Cane's is set to make it's debut by New Year 2024.

Back in August, I told you that my wife saw that Connecticut's first Raising Cane's location will be located near the Enfield Square Mall at 90 Elm Street.  Mrs. Large said at the time that the building still looked like it was whatever it used to be, and at least a few months away from being anywhere close to opening. Well, according to nbcconnecticut.com, Enfield's Town manager has narrowed the opening date down to "The end of December or early January'. the article goes on to say that more Connecticut Raising Cane's locations 'Are in the works'.

I've never been to a Raising Cane's, the closest locations to us right now are in Brooklyn and Manhattan in New York City, and Marlboro and Boston, Massachusetts.

Raising Cane's menu is as simple as it gets - Chicken Fingers, straight up or as a sandwich, crinkle-cut fries, Texas Toast, and Coleslaw. That's it. Raising Cane's also serves fresh-squeezed lemonade, fountain beverages and sweet tea. This should make ordering and getting your food at their restaurants pretty damn quick. Based on online reviews, most reviewers prefer Raising Cane's chicken fingers AND sauce over Chick- Fil-a and Popeye's. Let the Great Chicken Finger Battle of Enfield begin.
