If you're one of the lucky ones that has already received their $1,400 stimulus check, three very famous local Flea Markets have announced their 2021 season opening dates and you'll soon be able to stretch that stimulus check out even further, if you're up for a little outdoor bargain hunting.

The Elephant's Trunk in New Milford bills itself as "New England's Largest Flea Market" and if you've ever driven along Rt. 7/202/Danbury Road on a Sunday morning and got stuck in that traffic, you'll believe it. Thousands of people line up to waltz along isle after isle of used goods, crafts, foods, and whatever else they found in their attic that morning, every Sunday since 1976. The Elephant's Trunk is seasonal, the event only runs during the warm weather months from April to September. According to their website, Elephant Trunk is going to open up for the 2021 season on Sunday, April 4, 2021.

Another local giant in the world of Flea Markets is the Stormville Airport Flea Market, aka the Southern Dutchess Flea Market, in Stormville, New York. Unlike Elephant's Trunk, Stormville does not run every weekend or only on Sundays. The first Stormville Flea Market is going to happen on Saturday and Sunday, April 24 & 25, 2021. They have announced the rest of their 2021 schedule also: May 29 & 30, July 10, September 4 & 5, October 9 & 10, and November 6. There will also be two special "Ultimate Family Yard Sale" events during the year on June 19 and September 11.

If you go east along I-84 just over the border into Massachusetts in the area of Old Sturbridge Village is another famous Flea Market that happens a few times a year. Brimfield Antique Flea Market has also announced their 2021 season schedule: May 11-16, July 13-18, and September 7-12.

Get your bartering shoes on and you can really make that $1,400 stimulus check work out well for you if you plan ahead.
