Drive-Thru Holiday Light Display Coming to Bridgeport, CT

Is it too soon? Whatever. I'm 52 years old and I still love seeing bright, beautiful Christmas lights and holiday displays. Last year in 2020, Wallingford's Oakdale Theater brought Magic of Lights to Connecticut. This year, Connecticut's beautiful new live music and event venue, Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, will play host to a dazzling display of millions of festive, bright lights and lasers.

Holiday Lights Spectacular at the Amp has just been announced, and they're going big, 45 days of festive fun. The event is going to start on evenings one week prior to Thanksgiving 2021 on Thursday November 18, and run all the way into the New Year, til January 2, 2022.

What can you expect? Holiday Lights Spectacular is billed as "A family-friendly event, featuring gigantic light displays, featuring millions of lights, lasers, holograms, and projection mapping." Basically, you'll drive your vehicle through a Winter Wonderland of tunnels, laser shows, and dazzling displays, all the while listening to holiday hits on a dedicated radio station channel.

Unless 40 Clark Griswold/Christmas Vacation devotees have recently moved into the Naugatuck Valley, you're going to be hard pressed to find millions of lights, laser beams, and a coordinated soundtrack in one place at one time. Sounds cool right?

Holiday Lights Spectacular at the Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater, 500 Broad Street, Bridgeport, starts Thursday, November 18, 2021, and runs all the way to January 2, 2022. It's going to run Monday to Thursday from 5 PM to 10 PM, and Friday to Sunday from 5 PM to midnight. Tickets are priced per car, and you can save $5 if you purchase early-bird tickets.
