When word came down that we could expect more snow Wednesday night (2/5/25) into Thursday morning (2/6/25), I jumped on the Bat-Phone and called I-95 Meteorologist Jack Drake for an update on what we can expect.

Jack joined us on the show this morning and we got right to work.

Lou: Alright, we heard there is more snow coming Jack, what can we expect and when can we expect it?

Jack: "Yeah, so there are a couple of systems that I think are going to have a high impact in terms of school closures and road problems. It starts tomorrow—snow will begin to break out between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. The snow could get heavy at times during the morning commute. It will transition into sleet and freezing rain, you know, classic Connecticut weather, and then taper off in the early to mid-afternoon. In terms of total precipitation, nothing excessive, but about 2-3 inches of snow for the Greater Danbury area, followed by a glaze of ice on top. That should be enough to close the schools."

You can listen to our complete interview with Jack below where I asked him who would win in a fight, a typhoon or a tornado?

The Danbury Flood of 1869 is a Local Disaster Lost to Time

Most everyone in Danbury knows about, or has heard of the catastrophic Hat City flood of 1955 where 87 people died. On the other hand, most people we've talked to don't know about the history of the flood of 1869. In "The Place You Live" segment that aired on August 31, 2021, I-95's former News Director Mike Allen shared his research on the failure of the Upper Kohanza dam in Danbury and what it meant for the people in Downtown Danbury that day.

70's-90s: Connecticut and New York's Favorite Games from Childhood

On a recent episode of the I-95 Morning Show, we reached out to our Connecticut and New York listeners, asking them to share some of their favorite childhood games. With their help, we were able to recall many of the games that defined the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Those decades were filled with a delightful mix of absurd, often violent, and absolutely joyful games.
