Danbury Tree Removal: What Happened and What’s Coming Next
You know when you think about something a lot, but somehow it doesn't register—or occur to you—that you've spent so much time thinking about it?
It’s kind of like that TikTok trend a while back, where the entire country realized—within the span of two weeks—that all adult men spend an unusual amount of time thinking about the Roman Empire. It was always on our minds, never on the tip of our tongues, and never really front and center when we talk about what's important to us.

That happened to me again recently. I always think about trees. There are a few in particular that take up most of that mental real estate, but thinking about trees is a pretty common thing for me. There was (and still is) a Japanese Maple tree in my grandma’s front yard that I spent the better part of my youth in.
I love trees. Maybe to you, that's like saying "ice cream is dope," but for me, this realization feels new.

Thanks for reading. If you’re feeling sad about the trees like I am, I get it—but I also believe we’re in good hands. The people running this city—and those who helped get this project off the ground years ago—are decent people with good intentions for the Hat City.
I hate the way it looks right now, but I’m confident I’ll love how it turns out in the end.
This was the original few segments (6/5/25) about the tree removal, just hours after seeing it for the first time. This is what is known as "raw nerve hour" on the I-95 Morning Show.
Then, we spoke to Danbury Mayor Roberto Alves (6/6/25), the following day.
