Danbury’s Santa Train Is Back for 2025 — Here’s How to Get Your Tickets
The Danbury Railway Museum is once again turning into a winter wonderland this holiday season — and yes, Santa Claus himself will be there.

Families can climb aboard The Snow Clipper for a short vintage train ride through the historic Danbury railyard before meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus inside the beautifully decorated 1903 station. The event, called The First Gift Express, runs weekends from November 29–30, December 6–7, 13–14, and 20–22, with the museum open from 1:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Kids can stop by the Letters to Santa coloring station (Santa really writes back!), check out model trains, and explore the museum’s exhibits before the ride. After meeting Santa, guests can enjoy free hot chocolate and cookies while walking through the lighted railyard.
Tickets are $25 for ages 2 and up, and reservations are required — the event sold out last year, and walk-ins won’t be accepted. You can reserve your spot now at CTSantaTrain.org.
The Danbury Railway Museum is a nonprofit run entirely by volunteers, located at 120 White Street in Danbury, CT.
Hey, if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times — the Danbury Railway Museum rocks. If you’ve got little kids and want to see them light up with pure joy, take them there any time of year. But the Santa Train? That’s a whole different level of awesome.

And here’s a fun bit of Hat City trivia: Alfred Hitchcock filmed scenes for Strangers on a Train at that very station back in 1951. Pretty cool, right?
