Local police are looking to the public for help identifying a suspect in the wake of a shooting that took place in Danbury, leaving a man in his 20s suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to the City of Danbury Police Department, early last evening, Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 7:30 PM, Danbury Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 67 Rowan Street on reports of shots fired.

Responding officers found a male in his twenties on the ground, suffering from gunshot wounds. Upon treating the victim on site, first responders transported the victim to Danbury Hospital to receive further treatment. While the shooting victim has not yet been publicly identified as of this writing, police report that he is believed to currently be in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing, and we'll be sure to keep this post updated as more information rolls in.
