UPDATE: As of 3:35 PM on Wednesday, September 4, the Danbury Police Department has issued a statement regarding the homicide investigation at Sterling Woods Condominuin Complex.

The police department has received many inquiries from the public and the media concerning the earlier reported homicide. Unfortunately, we have no further information at this time, as investigators are working tirelessly to identify the person responsible for the death and to gather evidence from the crime scene. In respect to the victim's family, we will be withholding the name of the victim until the morning to provide the family an opportunity to make appropriate notifications.

A homicide investigation is currently underway at a quiet condominium complex in Danbury.

According to the Danbury Police Department's Detective Lt. Mark Williams, officers and investigators are currently on the scene at Sterling Woods Condo Complex, which is set back on Silversmith Dr., on the corner of Nabby Rd. and Palmer Rd., near the Stew Leonard's Section of Federal Rd.

Police say that at the present time, there is one deceased victim and they while they're currently looking for the person or persons involved, they have "no reason to believe that any other members of the community are at risk of harm."

Investigators also say that based on the information they do have, there was a motive behind the incident and that it wasn't a random homicide.

As of this writing, the police are withholding the identity of the victim pending the notification of the family members.

This is a developing story and we'll be sure to keep you updated as more information rolls in.
