Danbury House Fire Under Investigation, Leaves Family of 7 Displaced

Danbury Firefighters responded to a house fire Tuesday morning that displaced a family of seven, and sent a Danbury Firefighter to Danbury Hospital.

The house fire is being investigated on what started it. When fire crews arrived at the house fire on Carriage Lane in Danbury, they were met with heavy smoke, and a fire in the basement of the home that was quickly spreading to the first floor and the attic of the house.

According to the Danbury Fire Departments Facebook post, the department had to ask for assistance from the West Redding, Georgetown, and Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Departments due to the lack of fire hydrants in the area.

A Danbury firefighter was transported to Danbury Hospital for evaluation. Jamie Gagliardo, Danbury Fire Department spokesperson, gave more details about the fire and the firefighters condition to newstimes.com:

That firefighter has since been released and is doing fine. Everyone who was inside the house when the fire broke out got out safely, and a total of seven people — five adults and two children — are being served by The Red Cross following the blaze. The Red Cross was called in for the occupants because (the house) is not going to be tenable.

The fire is now being investigated by the Danbury Fire Marshal's office.
