This Thursday, the Danbury Fire Department and State Farm Insurance Agent, Maria Ordonez, are teaming up to host a Fire Safety Drive-Thru event in recognition of National Fire Safety Month and the anniversary of The Great Chicago Fire.

The event will be taking place at the State Farm Insurance Office located at 9 Pandanaram Road in Danbury. Parents are asked to drive through the parking lot, where members of the Danbury Fire Marshall's Office and the Ordonez State Farm Insurance Team will hand out goodies right to your car.

The event will be taking place this Thursday, October 8 from 3 to 5:30PM. The event will follow all CDC guidelines and protocols, and masks will be required by everyone.

The Danbury Fire Department will continue posting safety tips to their Facebook page all month long. Here are a couple important ones:

  • Don't play with matches
  • Don't hide, go outside
  • Fall and crawl
  • Stop, drop and roll
  • Have an escape plan
  • Call 911

Keep an eye out for more tips, and always make sure to follow these.
