Danbury boxer, Mike Marshall. has reached the pinnacle of his sport, as he captured the New England Heavyweight Championship last Saturday night.

Marshall, who trains at Champs Boxing Club in Danbury, entered the ring on Saturday night in Derry, New Hampshire against the current New England Heavyweight Champ Justin "Crazy Train" Rolfe, and when it was over, he emerged with an 8 round unanimous decision, and the Heavyweight Championship Belt around his waist.

Marshall, who entered the contest with a record of 3-1 with all three wins coming by way of knockout, took early command in the fight keeping his opponent, who was making his first defense of the title on the ropes, and that's all that Marshall needed to win a convincing 8 round unanimous decision, winning on points on all three of the judges cards.

Danbury Mayor, Mark Boughton, took to social media to congratulate Mike on his Facebook and Instagram page.

The fight was only the fifth pro bout for the 32-year-old Marshall, who won his first bout back in 2015.
