The hangover is absolute agony.

Your head hurts, you're nauseous, tired and everything feels foggier than it should. Most people would do just about anything to end the feeling and that includes ditching their careful diet in favor of a greasier, more irresponsible meal.

There are tons of meals that are synonymous with the hangover but they vary from place to place. Recently, the website Vine Pair set out to find the most popular hangover food for each region of the United States and Connecticut's is a real classic, the Bacon, Egg and Cheese sandwich. Vine Pair added:

An important part of Northeastern culture, when it comes to enjoying a breakfast sammie in Connecticut after a night of drinking, look no further than the classic bacon, egg, and cheese (BEC). Beyond tasting incredible, the BEC actually carries a ton of vitamins and nutrients that help fight off any hangover symptoms. Amino acids from the bacon can help clear neurotransmitters, eggs deliver a healthy dose of protein and omega-3 fatty acids, and cheese carries proteins, enzymes, and calcium. Plus, slapped between two pieces of bread — even better if it’s a bagel — complex carbs work to provide a much-needed boost of energy.

What about our neighbors? New Jersey's favorite is the pork roll egg and cheese which is a delightfully greasy meal. New York was divided into two parts which is a brilliantly realistic way to look at it.

Upstate New Yorkers prefer the "garbage plate" which is "a choice of meat (cheeseburger, hamburger, Italian sausage, etc.) layered atop a choice of carb (home fries, french fries, baked beans, macaroni salad) before being topped with sauces and various accouterments." Finally, New York City and the surrounding burbs love the (BEC) on a bagel.

The (BEC) is so much a part of who we are in the Tri-State are but it's simply no available outside the Northeast, I've checked. Let me revise that, there are no good ones outside the Northeast. Sure, you can get fast-food chain versions of the (BEC) but that's it.

I've scoured this country for quality bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches and they're not there. In some regions they don't even know what you're talking about when you ask for one. If you want a (BEC) in the south, you have to order the parts and mix them together yourself. Sure, Florida has warm weather and no state income tax but try finding a decent breakfast, the morning after a night on the town in Florida, just try.

Florida you say!?

My recipe for curing a hangover comes in 3 phases:

Phase 1 - Drink 2 full Pedialyte drinks and take three Tylenol. It's not easy to force down that much liquid but it works.

Phase 2 - Take the hottest shower you can tolerate.

Phase 3 - Eat a Philly cheese steak, hamburger/cheeseburger or a (BEC).

If you do all three things the way I said, your hangover WILL disappear.

5 Fascinating Filthy Rich Financial Stats From CT

There are people who aren't from here that make a lot of assumptions and broad generalizations about the Nutmeg State. When they say we are all just a bunch of rich, country club types I take the time to correct them and give them some of the insider perspective.

However, the numbers are the numbers and by the book we are a lot of the things they call us. I'm not a wealthy person, I never attended a private school, I did not go to an elite east coast University and I've never been a member of a country club. However, examining the financial stats from Connecticut makes me feel like I must have made a few missteps along the way. There is an ungodly amount of money in this state. Here are 5 Fascinating Filthy Rich Financial Stats from CT.
