CT Hot Spots Nominated for Reader’s Digest ‘Nicest Places in America’
Reader's Digest is telling us something we already knew. There are some amazing places to live in Connecticut. Actually it's the readers of the magazine who nominated New Canaan, Ridgefield, and Old Saybrook, as well as the Mashantucket Pequot Museum for their "Nicest Places in America" contest.
Reader’s Digest says here’s what makes a town one of the Nicest Places:
A place where the people believe in kindness, civility, and each other, neighbors help each other out, and strangers are welcomed as friends
What Reader's Digest does is post accounts of kindness in each nominated town. They especially like to highlight volunteer organizations, and then the readers vote on all of the nominees. There are some 300 of them. Soon the publication will issue a verdict, determined by readers' votes and narrow down the nominees to a list of the top 10. Last year Gallatin, Tennessee was the number one town.
