The Beardsely Zoo is a historic gem located in the heart of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Beardsely is Connecticut's only zoo, with over 100 years of stories to tell, and a new one taking social media by storm.

The Zoo recently announced the arrival of five fresh faces and when they did people went bonkers of these adorable creatures.

On August 6th at 10:00 am the zoo made the following announcement:

"We have some exciting news to share! Join us in welcoming the newest additions to our farmyard! Five Guinea hog piglets, four females and one male, were born on Friday, August 2. The last time piglets were born at the Zoo was in April of 2022. Guinea hog piglets are born with their eyes open and can immediately get around, so these little ones are already very active! Make sure to come visit them in the farmyard before the summer ends!"

The excitement was so strong that the message was reverberating across the country and being reported on in places like Kansas City.

I dig baby hogs, you can't go wrong with a wrinkled snout. Once the Facebook announcement was made people flooded the page with positive responses and it did not take long for someone to ask the most important question.

Ro M. White said: "How exciting! Wow five babies! This should be so much fun to see and watch them grow! Will the zoo be taking name suggestions?"

That is a great question and I have a suggestion the names:

  • Michael
  • Jermaine
  • Tito
  • Jackie
  • Randy
  • Marlon

Food for thought, chew it.
