Three Connecticut High Schools Named Most Expensive in the Entire Country
Connecticut is expensive and we can talk about this every single day. As more studies come out, it just proves our point more and more - it is not financially easy to live here.
Another study has recently come out that just proves that point even more. Go Banking Rates came out with a list of the 15 Most Expensive High Schools in America and what do you know, Connecticut made that list 3 times with 3 different high schools.
Coming in at number 15 is The Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor that has an annual tuition of $52,100. The article states that it's a highly regarded co-ed boarding and day school for grades 9 through 12. The school is located at 4 Batchelder Rd. A 4-year education there is costing you $208,400.
Number 12 on the list is The Taft School in Watertown. They are a private co-ed institution and are one of the top preparatory schools in New England for grades 9-12. The annual tuition at The Taft School is $53,500 and the school is located at 110 Woodbury Road. A 4-year education there will cost $214,000.

The last Connecticut school to land on the list is Kent School. This school focuses on the "simplicity of life, directness of purpose and self-reliance." This is also a private co-ed boarding school. It is located at 1 Macedonia Road and annual tuition will cost you $54,600.
Massachusetts also had a good amount of schools on that list as well - 8 to be exact. The top school to make the list was Milton School in Milton, Massachusetts with an annual tuition of $63,950.
Now if you ask me, these numbers are LARGE. Larger than college tuition large and it will continuously blow my mind at how schools in general get away with charging this much money.
I have never heard of some of the schools on the list, but I will now need to take a deep dive into each school and see why they cost so much money. If you would like to see the full list, you can view it here.
