Connecticut Named 7th Most Vulnerable State to Identity Theft
Credit card skimmers have been found across Connecticut over the past few months, just recently at Big Y supermarkets on the shoreline. Are you heeding the consumer warnings and trying to protect your pin at the gas pump? You should, Connecticut has just been named the 7th most vulnerable state to identity theft and fraudsters for 2025.
In order to determine where American consumers are most vulnerable to identity theft and fraud, WalletHub.com compared all 50 states and DC across three key dimensions: Identity Theft, Fraud, and Policy. Those dimensions were evaluated using 14 key metrics, including annual change in identity theft complaints per capita, average loss amount due to identity theft, persons arrested for fraud per capita, E-commerce attack rates, data disposal laws by state, presence of state laws addressing phishing, and presence of statewide cybersecurity task forces.
