A new investigation is under way regarding reportedly sick puppies that were adopted by customers of the new Tails of Courage location in Wolcott.

Back in 2018, the City of Danbury filed a lawsuit against the animal rescue organization, citing various animal cruelty violations. Danbury dropped the lawsuit once Tails of Courage decided to close down and made the decision to move their operations to a larger facility in Wolcott, Connecticut.

According to NBC CT, the Wolcott location is currently under investigation after someone came forth saying their puppy they adopted had died just hours after they brought the puppy home.

So far, in the short amount of time they've been open in Wolcott, two puppies have reportedly died and six are fighting for their lives. Wolcott Animal Control Officer, Roslyn Nenninger believes that the sick puppies were shipped from Texas where they contracted a canine Parvovirus which is highly contagious.

Police allegedly found sick puppies segregated in a separate room at the facility, which vets say is not proper isolation care for a contagious virus. When NBC CT reached out to Tails of Courage, they refused to comment. The investigation into the rescue that used to call Danbury home is ongoing, and the owner of new property in Wolcott claims that Tails of Courage will be leaving his property soon.
