C’mon Connecticut, Massachusetts Town Hosting Cannabis Cultivator’s Cup
Constant change is around us every day, and events that we wouldn't have dreamed possible 5-10 years ago are actually happening.
Sports betting and gambling are mere days, if not weeks away here in Connecticut, and adult-use recreational marijuana has been legalized. Soon you will see CT Lottery sports betting outlets appearing around the state and dedicated sports betting lounges at our casinos.
We're just starting to see the Cannabis growers, manufacturers and retailers starting to buy up the vacant commercial real estate around Connecticut, and it's going to explode.
Massachusetts has a couple of years on Connecticut when it comes to recreational marijuana, they're doing things up there like home delivery, and now, they're holding public events revolving around marijuana.
I saw a unique one that's never been possible before - legally - happening this weekend in Somerset, Massachusetts. If you're a big fan of herb, I thought that you might want to hear about it.
The Massachusetts Cultivator's Cup is a two day event, it's happening this Labor Day weekend, Friday and Saturday, September 3 and 4, in Somerset, Massachusetts.
Somerset is just to the East of Providence, RI. What is it? It's a public event where up and coming officially-licensed Massachusetts cannabis cultivators will present their product to the public and ask for honest feedback. They are selling Limited Edition Judge's Kits for $420. In this Kit, you get 28 individual grams of Massachusetts-grown cannabis to sample, a two day ticket to the VIP event, some merch, and a Judge's scorecard.
The Cultivator's Cup has also booked Cypress Hill and Method Man and Redman, as well as Badfish and several other bands to entertain the crowd. The Master of Ceremonies for the VIP event is actor Peter Dante, best known for his appearances in basically every Adam Sandler movie.
Over 30 vendors will be spread out around the event site, as well as an abundance of food trucks, munchies, and beer tents. Obviously the event is for adults 21 or older, and you have to show a Government issued ID to get in. The tickets range from $99 to the aforementioned $420 Cultivator's Cup Judge's Kit, and you can get them by clicking HERE.
Interesting huh? I always heard of the High Times Cannabis Cup over the years and it turns out they're doing a Massachusetts version of the event right now too. It's a virtual ceremony, but you can purchase judging kits in categories like concentrates, indica/hybrid/sativa flower, vape pens and edibles from various dispensaries in Mass. Click HERE to check that out.
It seems like every major city and event space in CT has allowed a beer/liquor/wine/spirits festival to take place in their town, will cannabis festivals be allowed just as frequently?
