Cheers to you, Cheers to me, and Cheers to good health. You know I couldn't miss something related to wine. I even have a recipe to pair up with your celebration.

Well, look at that. The people who create the calendar for National "Whatever" day, have declared February 18, National Drink Wine Day. What was I thinking not taking the day off?

I can certainly embrace a day to celebrate the benefits of wine. The big benefit: Wine reportedly lowers bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol. Even the American Heart Association has weighed in over the years about the health benefits from moderate wine consumption. In case you haven't heard, the American Heart Association defines moderate consumption, as one to two, four-ounce glasses a day. I guess the fact that I can polish off a bottle myself does not necessarily bode well for my heart health. Seeing as it is American Heart Month, with a focus on heart health for women, I pledge to work on my limits.

So, cheers to all of us on this National Drink Wine Day. I'll toast you at dinner tonight. It also happens to be National Crab-Stuffed Flounder Day! See, I told you there's a boatload of National "whatever" days. So, grab a glass or 2 of your favorite wine, and dig in. The FoodNetwork.com will even provide a tasty Crab- Stuffed Flounder recipe for you to try.

Here's a video of me enjoying one of my favorite things. Cheers!
