10 Things Only People From Connecticut Will Understand
If you’re from Connecticut, you already know we live in the Bermuda Triangle of New England: part Yankees, part tri-state, and somehow still our own weird, wonderful beast. Here’s a list that’ll have locals nodding in agreement—and arguing in the comments by #7.
1. Tag Sales Are Not Garage Sales: Don’t call it a garage sale unless you want side-eyes from five angry Ridgefield moms. It’s a tag sale, and it’s sacred. Reddit Comment: "Wow, I’m originally from NJ… I was very confused when I first saw ‘tag sale’ after moving here.”

6. We Measure Distance in Minutes: In CT, miles are meaningless. Traffic is the great equalizer. Everything is “20 minutes” until proven otherwise.
7. Some People Don’t Think Fairfield County Counts as Connecticut: Just watch a Connecticut TV meteorologist stand in front of Western Connecticut which is covered by his butt!
