When you’ve been married 49 years, you learn the value of good travel companions — which is why Mindy and I did what any couple in their right minds would do: we flew to Rome, hopped on Vespas, explored ancient ruins, ate like emperors, and then boarded a ship with balconies and buffets that sailed us across the Mediterranean like royalty.

We weren’t alone on this grand adventure. We were joined by four of our dearest friends — Jenn, Ann, Dee, and Tina, or as I call them, "Mindy's Posse"— women we’ve both known for over 25 years. And let me be clear: these aren’t just casual travel buddies. These are strong, smart, and remarkable women who could each run their own country.

One of the most spectacular sights during our Mediterranean cruise was watching the changing of the Presidential Guard in front of the Presidential Palace in Greece, which dates back to 1868. We shot this video on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025, and to see this play out live was fascinating!!

“It’s hard to put into words what we experienced in Rome — the weight of history, the beauty in every stone and sculpture, and the feeling that every corner held a story older than time itself… so I’ll let the photos do the talking. BTW, I personally snapped all of the following photos.
