Brookfield Firefighters Make Big Rescue During ‘Oldest Call in the Books’
The call came in just before noon on Saturday, July 21 and Brookfield's Candlewood Company jumped into Engine 1 and sprang into action!
Little did they know what they were in for. According to the Brookfield Fire Department's Candlewood Company Facebook page, the mission turned out to be one of the oldest fire calls in the book: a cat stuck in a tree. When your motto is, 'Pride, Brotherhood, and Tradition' no call is too small or too large.
Brookfield Firefighters successfully rescued the unidentified feline and handed it off to a neighbor who promised to transport it to the Brookfield Animal Shelter with hopes they could help with the cat's identification.
