Bethel Man Accused of Inappropriately Groping Child, Police Say
A Bethel man has been arrested after police say he's been accused of inappropriately touching a 10-year-old.
According to a press release from the Bethel Police Department, 42-year-old Nathan Shupp was arrested Wednesday (July 17) when officers executed an active warrant in his name that was issued by Danbury Superior Court.
Police say the 10-year-old victim reported the inappropriate contact after Shupp was acting as the unidentified child's babysitter. It's been alleged that the "intimate parts of the victim's body" were groped while the two were at Shupp's Bethel home.
Nathan Shupp has been charged with sexual assault in the fourth degree and two counts of rick of injury to a minor.
As of Wednesday evening, the accused was being held on a $50,000 court set bond and is due to be arraigned at Danbury Superior on Thursday, July 18.
