Beloved Danbury Puppy Store Announces Permanent Closure
My wife and I like to stop into pet stores on our days off. We're both animal lovers, and we've found our version of joy by visiting exotic pets from all over the globe at animal retailers around Connecticut. One of our favorite places to stop was Puppy Love on Lake Avenue Extension in Danbury. I just saw very sad news, Puppy Love is permanently closing their doors.
I've met Puppy Love's owners Sean and Nancy Silverman many times over the years, in-store and here at the radio station, they're wonderful people. Sean and Nancy broke the news on their social media 5 days ago that after 27 years of operation in Danbury, they've decided to close their Lake Avenue Extension location permanently, and move to a direct business model. The Silvermans then announced that Puppy Love would remain open until their current selection of puppies found homes. Well, fortunately, or unfortunately for me, that end has come sooner than we'd thought.
In a follow-up post on Puppy Love's social media just this morning (Friday 5-26-23) The Silverman family has announced that Memorial Day weekend 2023 will be the last time that you will be able to physically stop into their store.
I'll join in on the chorus of folks offering well wishes, and a huge thank you to Nancy and Sean for bringing so many furry bundles of joy into our community. Every animal is deserving of love, no matter how or where you got it, and they helped many a lonely person find their new best friend. Thank you Nancy and Sean.
