Avoid These Pizza Chains While Eating in Connecticut
First off, I might have to judge you if you're eating at a pizza chain when we live in Connecticut. We're home to the best pizza in the country (biased, but also true). Even if you don't live near New Haven, there are so many amazing pizza options all over the state. I feel like each town can name a place that sells amazing pizza within a small distance of them.
If chain pizza is your thing, then so be it. I've never really had chain pizza, so I'm not sure what to compare it to. If I'm eating pizza, I'm eating the good stuff. 247 Wall Street came out with a list of the pizza chains to avoid if you're going to choose to eat them. They based their data off of reviews on 5 different food blogs and websites. They spoke about how it was pretty inconsistent about what was considered the best pizza chain, but the consistency really stood out when talking about the worst.
Number 5 on their list was Dominos. According to their store locator, Dominos is home to 54 Connecticut locations. You can pretty much access Dominos from anywhere in the state. I think many people like the convenience of Dominos. You can order from an app and it gets delivered relatively fast. The article highlights that the reason to avoid it is due to the lack of consistent quality and the low quality toppings. If you're eating Dominos due to convenience, you have Uber Eats and DoorDash now, too. You can get way better quality elsewhere at the tap of your fingers.
Another chain to make the list was Little Caesars. It looks like there are currently 4 Little Caesars locations in Connecticut - Bridgeport, New Britain, Danbury and Norwich. While they are known for their "Hot-N-Ready" pizzas, it goes to show that maybe quality isn't there. If you don't have to wait for your food necessarily, you can easily question how good is it really? The website calls it 'subpar quality' even though you can't beat the price. I will absolutely spend the extra dollars on a local pizza shop with high quality and fresh ingredients.
The worst pizza chain to make the list is Chuck E. Cheese. The common criticisms surrounding this were unappetizing cheese, toppings that lack quality, cardboard-like curst, and high prices. Now, I am one of the few people that have never stepped foot into a Chuck E. Cheese. I never went when I was younger, so I don't really know the experience of Chuck E. Cheese to talk on it. It is said that they revamped their menus within the last few years, but it didn't do much for the quality.
All in all, I will still shout from the rooftops to support your local businesses. There are an abundance of pizza shops in Connecticut, and I promise you can find good options. We are the pizza capitol of the world. Finding good pizza should be easy enough.
