Love and appreciation for the cultural arts is instilled in us early here in New England, we paint, bring our kids to dance class or museum trips, and love our live concerts and comedy shows. Local artists everywhere beautify our old factories with gorgeous murals of bright color, while our musicians fill the air with their art in symphony halls or busking for a few bucks in New Haven.

Most of our fellow New England states did better than us, Vermont was ranked at #4, Massachusetts at #7, Maine at #13, Rhode Island just nipped Connecticut by a hair to land at #15, and lowly New Hampshire was the only state in New England out of the top 20 at #23. The worst? Mississippi ranked at #50.

Three of the Loudest Concerts I Ever Got to See in Connecticut

After 33 years of working at various radio stations around Connecticut, I've been lucy enough to see hundreds of live performances. A friend recently asked what were the loudest concerts that I remember going to. I came up with three that truly blew my ear drums away.
